Penistone is the closest town to Millbrook and offers pubs, restaurants and and a cinema (Penistone Paramount). Market days are Thursday and Saturday. The railway station is on the Penistone Line which runs between Sheffield and Huddersfield.

Cannon Hall is ten minutes away, gardens, hall, children's farm, garden centre and farm shop. Maize maze during the summer months.

Holmfirth, the film location for Last of the Summer Wine is 8 miles north of Millbrook. Wander around the shops, get a coffee in Sid's cafe and find Nora Batty's house.

Barnsley, famous for its superb market every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, is a bustling shopping centre only 8 miles east.

Elsecar Heritage Centre, a collection of craft, furniture and antique shops housed the old ironworks and colliery workshops. Also home to the world famous Newcomen Beam Engine.

Wentworth village, a charming village close to Elsecar Heritage Centre featuring the stately home Wentworth Woodhouse, church, antique shops, excellent garden centre, pubs, restaurant and pleasant country walks.

Castleton and the Hope Valley are only 40 minutes drive away. A pleasant area with ample walking, shops, Peveril Castle and numerous show caverns including Blue John Cavern and Speedwell Cavern.

Hadfield, the film location of the League of Gentleman TV series is located 30 minutes away at the western end of the Woodhead Pass. Are you local?

Meadowhall shopping centre, 25 minutes drive or can be reached by train from Penistone as can Sheffield.

York, a little over an hour away and easily done as a days trip from Millbrook. Attractions include the York Minster and Jorvik Viking Centre.
